Urban Decay Store Event

Last week I got a chance to attend an event at my local Urban Decay counter. This event gave Urban Decay fans like myself a chance to view new products being released this spring/ summer and also gain advise on how to use them as well as many of the brands long established products. The event was really interesting and I’m glad I had popped to my counter to the week before and found out about it then.

The booking fee for the event was £5 and this included cupcakes and bucks fizz being supplied but even better than that if you made a purchase you got £5 off which I thought meant the whole experience was really worthwhile. Firstly the lovely ladies who work on the counter introduced the new Alice Through The Looking Glass collection and showed us ideas on how to use the palette and all of the different lipstick shades. It was great seeing how the lady applied the bright colours in the palette to the model without making it look too over the top. They also showed their different bases including the Naked Skin Foundation and the new Naked Skin One and Done Complexion Perfector, this was interesting as they showed how each product applied and the benefits of using B6 Complexion Prep Spray. It was really good to see the difference that the brow products and the use of eye make up made to the models face.

After the demonstration we were then invited to go and look round the products at the counter and make any purchases. I knew what I wanted before the event so only purchased these items but I will definitely be purchasing some of other products mentioned very soon. I’ve wanted the Naked Skin Concealer for the longest time and finally picked one up in the shade Fair Neutral, this is the palest shade they have in the range and it suits my skin really well. I then went onto purchase the travel size De-Slick Oil Control Setting Spray which will be perfect for my upcoming holiday. Then finally I picked up one of the lipsticks from the recently released Alice Through The Looking Glass Range, the shade I chose was ‘Alice’ which is a lovely sheer nudey-pink colour.

I received a goody bag with my purchase which was full of deluxe samples including the Perversion Mascara, All Nighter Setting Spray, Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Revolution High-Color Lipgloss in the shade Bittersweet and a 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in the shade LSD. There was also a few leaflets in the bag with one time use samples of the Revolution Lipsticks, Flushed Palette and another with some of Urban Decay’s most wanted products.

I really enjoyed the whole experience and definitely have a few items on my wishlist which I might purchase this summer in America. I’m lusting after that Alice Palette but it seems to be sold out everywhere I’ve looked which I guess may be a blessing in disguise as I have so many palettes already and also I’m considering purchasing the Naked Skin Foundation.  I’ve definitely gained some new tips and ideas on how to apply my make-up and different looks I can try and create and would recommend going to one of these events if you get the chance, I’ve already got my name on the list for my next local one.
