Superdrug Beauty Haul

superdrug haul

It feels like forever since I’ve gone into Superdrug and gone a little bit crazy buying makeup I want to try but definitely don’t need. I was shopping recently and needed some Micellar Water so popped into Superdrug and that’s when I saw lots of new things out on display, so there was no better time to buy a few a new bits to try out.

The Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water which I think is the original was on offer so I went for that one this time, I don’t have much of a preference really in terms of what brand I use but find it a really quick but effective way to remove my makeup. Anyway onto the actual makeup I picked up, I’m sure thats what you are here to read about.

The only product from this haul that I have tried so far is the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paint in Darling Pink (£6.99). I really like liquid lipsticks and generally prefer those from the drugstore over high end brands, the colour of this one is lovely and perfect for the spring and summer. I also think this wears really well on the lips and doesn’t go patchy, as its so comfortable to wear I’m definetly going to be on the look out for more colours. I picked up a couple of lip products from Models Own too, this isn’t a brand I own much from but all of their products were discounted so I thought I’d give some a go. I got one of the Luxestick Matte Lipsticks in Honeylove (£3.99) which is a perfect everyday colour and the packaging is actually really nice too. I’ve been wanting to try a lip sealer to improve the logevity of some of my lip products so I picked up the Lip Finale (£3.49).

I never got round to trying any of the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits as I believe they were only avaliable to ship from America and sold out pretty quickly each time they were released so I’m hoping the Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip kit (£6.00) is a good (and cheaper) alternative. The shade I picked is Reign which is a lovely pinky nude colour, again a type of colour I tend to wear on an everyday basis.

I’m really into contour and highlight at the moment, nothing too bold as I’m not that brave yet but I’m getting there! I’ve seen other bloggers using a liquid highlighter mixed in with their foundation to give their skin a dewy finish and a natural looking glow so when I saw the new Master Strobing Liquid from Maybelline (£6.99) I thought it would be perfect for trying this myself. I also got a Master Strobing Stick (£6.99) which I think is also new to Maybelline, I find these makeup sticks really handy when I’m in a rush but still want to look like I’ve made an effort. I particularly like the ones from No7 so I hope this is just as good. My favourite ever contour and matte highlight is in the Kat Von D Shade and Light Face Palette but as I’ve been using it nearly everyday since getting it for Christmas I’m starting to hit pan so I have been looking for a cheaper alternative. When browsing in Superdrug I came across the Barry M Feeling Cheeky Sculpting Palette (£6.49), the shades look perfect for my pale skin so I’m looking forward to trying it and hopefully using this for everyday wear and saving my favourite for maybe just the weekends.

Finally I picked up a couple of eyeshadow products. I rarely buy single shadows but this one from the Maybelline Colorshow (£5.49) range in Lustrous Beige really caught my eye. From swatching it on the back of my hand I think it may be one of those that works well over a matte colour to really make it pop. I then got a palette from Iheartmakeup, I’ve been looking at the various chocolate bar inspired palettes in the range for a while wondering if they’re as good as my beloved one from Too Faced. So I thought I’d give the Chocolate and Peaches one a try, on first impressions the scent is as realisticly like chocolate as it is with the Too Faced products but the colours are really nice and I think I’l really enjoy using the lighter ones over the summer.

Thats it for my haul, hopefully I’ve picked up a few gems. If you want any reviews on anything you see here let me know. I’d also really be interested to see if any of you have any drugstore product recommendations for me to try.

  1. I love the products that you have brought. I love spending a good half hour roaming the counters and seeing what is out there. I really want to try the Revolution Lip Kits as they would be amazing dupe for the Kylie lip kits! xo
