I had a great time at the Glamour Beauty Festival held at the Saatchi Gallery a couple of weekends ago. It was great to enter a space full of people sharing the same interest and to learn about new products and techniques. There was also lots of opportunities to get pampered. The festival has been running for three years but I’d never heard of it before becoming a member of the Glamour Beauty Club and so I thought I’d write my thoughts on the day.
I went to the festival with my sister, we bought an all day ticket and it was around £65. We arrived at around 10:30, the doors opened at 9:30 so there were no queues by the time we got there. The gallery was split into different sections – Skincare, Hair, Instagram, Philips, Makeup, Fragrance, Nails, Wellness and the Glamour Beauty Theatre. Brands at the festival included – Fresh, Pixi, Revlon, Nars, Guerlain and Feel Unique to name just a few. It was great to walk around exploring each section and to see what products each brand were advertising however the queues to try the makeup or skincare were very long as all treatments were complimentary. The festival was in association with Phillips, so they had an area with a complementary prosecco bar and a chance to learn about their new products and how they could improve your daily routine.
The festival was great value for money as there was so much to do as long as you were patient and didn’t mind queuing. We enjoyed a make up masterclass with the makeup artist Zoe Taylor and it was great to pick up tips especially on how to make winged eyeliner easier. I enjoy finding out what products people have in their makeup bags and so her discussing the most used products in her kit was really interesting to me. We visited the Guerlain stand and received a complimentary hand massage to celebrate their new fragrance Mon Guerlain, the lady who did it was lovely and it was so relaxing. In the same area there was a Feel Unique section it was mainly there to advertise the pick and mix option on their website, we queued up expecting to pay for the products we selected but they were complimentary. There was a great selection of products and being able to pick 5 of them free of charge was great, you can see below the St Tropez was a really generous size.
We also visited the Alcatel area where they were showing how to create the perfect flat lay and there was a very Instagramable background. At the Pixi stand there was a printer that printed out your photo if you used their hashtag on Instagram, I really love this photo of us and its lovely to have it for the memories.
As if the different stands and treatments weren’t amazing enough we were also given a goodie bag as part of the ticket price. The contents were worth over £180 and unlike a lot of freebies the bag actually included a lot of things I will use. My favourite products from the bag have to be the Guerlain body lotion because it’s so luxurious and I’d never be able to justify spending over £40 on a body lotion and also the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner because its my absolute fave! You can see how amazing the contents of the bag is below, also how nice is the rose gold bag itself (see in first photo).
If you’re interested in going to the festival next year then I’d really recommend signing up to the Glamour Beauty Club as you’ll get notified when the tickets go on sale. It’s completely free to sign up and there’s a chance of being sent some products to try too.
