A couple of weeks ago I was invited a long to the Smashbox Studios in London by Debenhams for the launch of their Beauty Club Community. I’m already an avid user of the Beauty Club card – collecting points from my many beauty purchases and going into my local Debenhams to collect the monthly Beauty Club freebies.

You may already be aware of Debenhams Beauty Club – you join by requesting a loyalty card instore or online and then you can earn points when you buy beauty products, these points then build up and every time you reach £5 you can then put it towards a beauty product of your choice. The reward scheme is especially great as they often hold extra points events such as £10 worth of points when you spend £50. You can also get freebies usually one or two times a month literally by just showing your card at your local Debenhams fragrance counter and there’s absolutely no purchase necessary. The products are miniatures but still a really good size – a couple of weeks ago I collected a Laura Geller highlighter and about a month ago I got a Make Up Forever illuminator/ liquid highlight (both are shown over on my Instagram)

The new launch of the Beauty Club Community is an extension to the already well established Debenhams Beauty Club.  It’s an online platform where you can communicate with fellow beauty enthusiasts. It’s a really friendly place where you can ask questions, give suggestions and look up specific topics. It’s completely free to join and you can do so here. You can also keep up to date with their blog which gives you a heads up on when the next Beauty Club freebie will be available.

The launch party itself was great, it felt really good to be in a room of people all with a common interest in beauty. I’ve spoken lots about the launch and the community over on my Instagram which you can find by searching thebestofjessxo and going to my events highlight. It was a real treat to be able to bring my cousin a long to the event and get our makeup done whilst drinking Pinkster Gin. The event was held at the Smashbox Studios in London and now I have a long list of Smashbox products I’m longing to buy. It was lovely to see how passionate the Debenhams team were about the Beauty Club Community. Two of their stores are going to have beauty hubs where you can chat to an advisor about beauty wants and needs and they will give you advice that isn’t biased to a particular brand. I imagine it’s going to be like a beauty counter which isn’t for a specific brand and so they select something best for you from the brand that would be most suitable. It’s a really exciting time for Debenhams and beauty enthusiasts like myself, it’s nice to have a place to access information whether it be instore or on the community page where the opinions given are genuine.

A big thank you to Debenhams, especially Ellen for the invite and for the very generous goodie bag we got at the end of the night.
