I am quite literally a marketers dream, tell me something is limited edition, give it some sparkly packaging and it’s in my basket. Add a free gift and it’s in my basket even quicker. It’s quite funny really considering I work in marketing myself!
I love a MAC limited edition collection, the packaging is always gorgeous. With some brands when these types of collections are released the quality is compromised and more of the focus goes into the packaging. I really don’t feel this is the case with MAC and especially not this collection, the quality is as high as you’d expect.
I picked up three products from the collection, they were all impulse buys. I saw someone on Instagram mention it had launched and I went ahead and ordered straight away. I’ve included my initial thoughts and swatches of each product below.
Foiled Shadow – White Haute.
This eyeshadow is a gorgeous metallic champagne colour that I feel looks good on it’s own or with a darker shade. It works well with a dry or wet brush, it’s slightly more metallic with a wet brush as you’d expect- I have included swatches below (dry brush – left/ wet brush – right) and how it looks on the lid.
Radiant Matte Bronzing Powder -Beige-ing Beauty
There are two bronzers in the collection, this is the lighter one. I thought it was only right to pick this up as it is the “Bronzing Collection” and I needed a new everyday bronzer as my Physicians Formula one has hit pan. I have to admit it is a little darker than expected and I do need to take extra time blending to make it work, it’s not my perfect shade but is usable. If you have fairer skin than me I’d say this would probably be too dark. The formula is lovely though, it’s just the colour that’s an issue for me. I have included a swatch below and you will be able to see how it looks on the face in the image at the end of my post.
Lustre Lipstick – A La Plage
This is probably the product I’ll get the most wear/ use from. A La Plage is a Light Nude, with a slight shimmer. As with all of the Lustre Lipsticks the formula is very comfortable to wear, this is an easy every day shade. I have included a swatch below, the image at the end of this post will show how it looks on the lips. I try and pick up a lipstick from every limited edition collection released by MAC, if there’s a shade suitable for me as the packaging is just so pretty.
The Finished Look
I’m really pleased with the look these products helped me achieve. I really enjoy how the eyeshadow looks with a darker brown shade on the outer corner/ crease. Excuse my hair style, I have been practising the heatless curls craze that’s been going around during lockdown.
I spent £60 so received a free gift- a makeup bag, full size mascara and two fix plus samples.
I hope you enjoyed looking at what I picked up from the Bronzing collection, did you pick anything up? If so let me know what you chose.
You can buy the collection from MAC directly or on ASOS.
