Autumn Fashion Wishlist

I think I’d go as far as to say this time of year is my favourite for fashion, I love dressing for colder weather and September is the month where all of the shops begin to bring jumpers, jackets and boots out. I’ve only bought a couple of bits so far, a burgundy jumper which was only £9.99 and a faux suede jacket both from New Look. I love burgundy as it makes a nice change to black but still goes with so many colours. I’ve styled the jacket with jumpers and dresses and the jumper is so warm and soft for such a bargain price.

Onto what I’ve been looking at to update my Autumn wardrobe and hopefully I’ll get round to purchasing some of these bits once I have checked what I have packed away from last year.

I’m really keen to update some of my older key pieces such as coats and jumpers with new chunky scarves, I think they really make a statement and can make a plain outfit look interesting. I love these two, both are from ASOS, the grey one which is by Glamorous is £22 and multi-coloured one is £18. I’ve longed for a pair of these studded ankle boots since last winter but I just wasn’t brave enough to think I could pull them off however this year they seem to be an even bigger trend amongst those in the fashion community and I’ve seen them worn in a lot of different ways. I’d wear them with either dresses and tights or a fairly plain outfit such as a jumper and jeans with these being the statement piece. These particular ones are from River Island and are £48 which I don’t think is too bad for a pair of boots with this amount of detailing. Finally for the accessories on my wish list is this bag from River Island, I saw this about a month ago in Bluewater and I had to walk away telling myself I didn’t need anymore bags however I’ve been lusting after it ever since. I love the quality of River Island handbags so I think £40 is a really good price and I’d get lots of use out of it.

Along with boots one of my guilty pleasures is coats, I already own far too many of both (so I’m told!) but no Autumn wardrobe is complete without a new coat to freshen it up. I have actually already ordered the black biker style coat which is from Marks and Spencer, I own one very similar from one of their previous years collections but its extremely worn out now as I’ve had so much use from it so I thought it was time for a new one. Its £79 but I think its every bit worth the money as it goes with jeans, boots and oversized scarf but also with smarter outfits for work. I’m also considering buying a trench coat or mac but I’m not sure if it would fit in well with my style. The one I’ve featured is from Primark and is only £14 so for that price I may just bite the bullet and try it out, if its not for me I won’t have wasted that much money. I really love this blush pink boyfriend style coat from F&F at Tesco, I can picture it with a cream knit, jeans and tan heeled boots it would also be a great coat to get out in the spring too, it’s £39 but I think it could pass as being from a much more expensive store such as Topshop or Zara. The last jacket I’ve included is one I have seen all over the internet, I love how it looks on other people with a slogan tee underneath but some blazers seem to make me look like I have a much bulkier frame and aren’t very flattering, the one above is from New Look and is £29.99. I have seen one similar in Primark which has ruched sleeves and looks like it could be more flattering. I think I may have to try on a few to find the “one”.

I absolutely love leopard print but don’t actually wear much of it anymore… I’m not really sure why though. I think this blouse would look lovely with a pair of black skinny jeans and heeled boots for an evening out, I saw it recently when in Tesco’s and its only £14. My local Tesco’s has recently had a refurb and a now has a much bigger clothing section, its really worth going to look if you have one nearby as some of the pieces are really on trend and reasonably priced. New Look is my go to shop all year round, most things I buy from there seem to fit me really well, its so affordable and I have a delivery pass so when I have a melt down the day before going somewhere about having nothing to wear I can order something with free next day delivery. I especially love them for pretty tops/ blouses and the next three items in the above picture are all New Look. I think the black floral blouse is such a classic and something I would keep for a long time, it would be ideal for work or to wear more casually with jeans and its only £19.99. The next two items – the blouse and faux fur gilet, I saw when in store recently modelled as an outfit. I’d really like to get a longline gilet this year as I think it could make the most basic of outfits look a bit more put together and this one is only £29.99, the blouse is £24.99.

Onto jumpers, although most of these seem to be grey and I’m still not sure if some shades of grey actually make me appear washed out, but none the less I do really like all of these. The first jumper with the pearl detail is also on its way to me in the same order as the black biker coat… it’s from M&S and I had to have it as I feel it could become as big as that bell sleeve jumper they sold last year that everybody and their cat was wearing! I really like the “pearl” detail, it makes the grey look less dull but at £35 I’m really hoping the “pearls” are sewed on well and don’t fall off in the wash. The floral grey jumper is from Tesco’s but I have seen similar in Topshop, River Island and on ASOS but this is a fraction of the price of those others at only £30. My wardrobe generally isn’t very colourful, it may have something to do with me being colour blind as I find it hard to see what colours go with each other and also sometimes I see colours completely different to how people who see them normally do. Anyway this jumper looks pretty and the colours must go with each other or Missguided wouldn’t be selling it, I could wear it with jeans and trainers. It’s £25 so I may order it and see how it looks with it being a bit out of my comfort zone colour wise. The last item in the picture above is from Smith & Webb, a company set up by two mums that I came across on Instagram. Their clothing is organic and ethically made and a donation from each sale is made to anti-bullying charities. I already own a pink slouchy sweatshirt from the brand and also a t-shirt both of which are so soft and comfortable to wear so now I’m longing for the grey “Be Kind” sweatshirt which is £45 but I know it will definitely be worth the money.

There was a time when I rarely wore jeans but instead dresses with tights or leggings all of the time, I came away from that because wearing them all the time became boring and now I hardly ever wear dresses. This winter I’d definitely like to get into wearing them more as I really like how they look with boots. I have ordered a couple for work from Dorothy Perkins but also like the two above. The grey one is a Jumper dress from Topshop and is only £39, which I think is a really good price for Topshop. It would look really nice with an oversized scarf and my black faux suede or leather jacket. The second dress I have included is one I could picture looking nice with flat black boots and my black suede jacket or possibly heeled boots to dress it up more, its from F&F and only £18.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my round up of all of the pieces I am currently lusting after, these sort of posts usually give me lots of inspiration so if you’ve seen any pieces you think I would like then please let me know in the comments!
