My eagled eyed viewers may of realised I am posting this review much later in the month than usual and this is completely my fault. I made my selections for the box late at night when very tired and added them to the basket but didn’t go through the checkout therefore my products didn’t arrive. I only became aware of this when I emailed the lovely ladies at You Beauty asking where my box was when they explained my selections were just sitting in my basket on the site. Luckily the products I wanted were still available to select.
For those of you who are new to You Beauty and their subscription boxes, it is a service that you pay for each month and then get to choose two products from a list and then get a few further surprise products added into the box. I love the element of surprise but also the fact that I know I am going to get at least two products I will want to try. The options go live on the first of every month and often the more “hyped” products will fly off of the virtual shelves quickly.
This months box theme is The Cult Beauty Edit, this title excited me a lot before I saw the product options which in all honesty didn’t really excite me. Anyway I went onto make my selections, the first product I picked was the Rodial Stem Cell Cleanser. This is a product I’ve seen a lot on beauty pages but never really heard any reviews on. I’m keen to give this a go as it is marketed as duo action cleanser and mask which is interesting as it claims to provide instant relief for dehydrated complexions. My skin has been very dry and bumpy lately, nothing I am currently using is helping it improve so I will definitely be giving this a go and if it works wonders I will report back over on my Facebook page or Instagram. This is product is really generous sample size.
My second choice was Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in the shade Hibiscus. This selection was kind of a safe one for me as I could guarantee I would like the lip balm before I even received it as I have many other Burts Bees Balms and they are all excellent for keeping lips in tip top condition all year round. The tint this balm gives is lovely as its quite sheer but still makes you look like you’ve made a small amount of effort, I love tinted balms as they are much more moisturising than lipsticks. This is a full size product and retails for £5.99.
Finally the additional products that every subscriber received in their box this month were a sample of Verso Super Facial Serum, a Popband hair tie and a £15 giftcard for Anne Semonin. These products aren’t really anything I will use unfortunately but definitely are new brands to myself and think its a great way for brands to showcase themselves.
Price of the box is £6.95 including P&P. This months box is still available to buy but choices may be limited. You can subscribe to this box by visiting https://www.you.co.uk/
