You Beauty Box Review – July 2016

It feels like its been forever since I’ve written a You Beauty Box Review but in fact I’ve only missed June’s box. I was on holiday for the middle couple of weeks of June and my box was waiting for me when I got back but it took me a good a couple of weeks to get over the jet lag, so I decided to leave all beauty box reviews off of the blog for June. However now I’m back with July’s review and this is definitely one of the best boxes I have received from You Beauty.

For those of you who are new to You Beauty and their subscription boxes, it is a service that you pay for each month and then get to choose up to four products from a list and then get one to two further surprise products added into the box. I love the element of surprise but also the fact that I know I am going to get at least two products I will want to try. The options go live on the first of every month and often the more “hyped” products will fly off of the virtual shelves quickly.

This month You Beauty have swapped up their subscription options and so from now on you can pick two options from the list for £6.95 which is traditional option or go for three products for £8.95 or four products for £10.95. I stuck with the usual choice of two products as although the product selection offered this month was good there was a few things I already had or had a lot of a similar product. My first choice this month was the Rosie for Autograph Nuit Parfum from M&S beauty. I have been itching to try something from the Rosie Huntington-Whitely Beauty collection at M&S and although this isn’t make up I knew it would probably be really nice as the whole collection has had really good reports. This scent is lovely, its really classic – slightly musky but also floral. Its a really good size too and not one of those sample bottles that you only get two sprays from. My next choice was the Illamasqua Precision Ink Liner in the shade Abyss, I’ve heard good things about Illamasqua but have only ever tried their nail varnishes so I thought this was the perfect chance to try something new. The nib on this liner looks perfect for creating a perfect line and even maybe might help me to perfect my cat flick. I’m hoping to get a lot of use out of both of these products, the perfume is perfect handbag size and with the liner being black its perfect for every day wear.

The extra surprise product this month was the ST. Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion in the shade medium. This particular shade is new and is formulated to help you gradually build a deeper golden glowing tan. I’m keen to see if this gives different results in comparison to the lighter shade which I purchased last year as the tan that one gave me was minimal and very natural. I love the idea behind this tan as it’s great that you can apply this within your showering regime and it helps to hydrate your skin too which is vital for the summer.

This box named “The Jet Set Edit” really impressed me this month and would 100% recommend you take a look at the choices this month to see what gems are left.

The price of this box is £6.95 including P&P. This months box is still available to buy but choices may be limited. You can subscribe to this box by visiting https://www.you.co.uk/
